Melvin Brown Obituary

On Saturday, October 20, 2018, age 99, formerly of Forest Hills. He was born in Minneapolis, MN to the late Robert M. and Mabel (Parker) Brown. He was raised in Minneapolis and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He served his country in the Army during WWII. He married Jean W. Brown and they moved to Pittsburgh where he worked for U.S.Steel for over 40 years. Melvin and Jean shared their love of music with several choirs and orchestras. Melvin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean, after 65 years of marriage. He is survived by his four children, Susan, David, Douglas, and Scott, and their spouses, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, grand-nieces and their families. Family was very important to Melvin and the annual gatherings were a special time for him. Services private. The family requests memorial gifts be sent to North Port Symphony at 6400 W.
