Of Churchill, age 87, passed away after a short illness on Monday, March 3, 2025. Beloved husband of 50 years of Patricia (Gigliotti) Severance. Brother-in-law of Madeline Gigliotti of Penn Hills. Alan was born in Fort Wayne, IN, and graduated from Purdue University. He came to Pittsburgh to work at Westinghouse Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in West Mifflin until his retirement in 2000. He enjoyed snow skiing, hiking, cruising, traveling across the country in his RV and camping with Pat, and volunteering with Rails to Trails. He especially loved spending 3 days a week at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in the mollusk department and as an information volunteer for over 20 years. Services private.
