Of Forest Hills, formerly of Lawrenceville, age 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, January 13, 2023. Loving husband of 44 years of Jeannette “Jan” Burkhart. Father of Cheryl Burkhart, the late Ronald Burkhart, the late Diane Burkhart, Kathy Lucas (Jim), Beth Russ (Bill), Diane Gallick (Charlie), and Jeannette Baur (Rich). Grandfather of 14 and great-grandfather of 9. Al was a proud member of Steamfitters Local 449 for 60 years. Friends received at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3604 Greensburg Pike, on Tuesday from 2pm until the time of the funeral service at 7pm. Burial in Allegheny Cemetery on Wednesday. Please gather at the funeral home at 9:30am to travel in procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Al’s memory may be given to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
