Albert Macchioni, Jr. Obituary

Albert J. Macchioni, Jr., age 95, of Forest Hills, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 3, 2020. Loving husband of Frances C. Macchioni for over 30 years and Bonnie L. Pantlik for 20 years. Proud father of Albert J. Macchioni of Connecticut and Gary Macchioni of Arizona. Also survived by his loving brother Rudolph, his loving sister Gloria Arraujo, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert J. Sr. and Edvige (née Pofi) Macchioni; his brothers, Ernani, Florido, and Vincent; and his sisters Ines and Mary.

Albert lived all of his life in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  He was a very talented tenor vocalist and sang in the Saint Paul Cathedral, Sacred Heart, and St. John Fisher choirs for many years.  He sang at many weddings and funerals. One of the proudest moments of his life was singing a solo in St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City during a choir tour to Italy.

He worked as a house painter for many decades, mainly in Squirrel Hill, and took great pride in his craft. After he retired, he was a devoted volunteer in the Surgical Short Stay Unit at Forbes Regional Hospital.

His family would like to thank the entire Hospice Care Team at Allegheny Health Network who cared for him during the final stage of his life.
