Amy Bischoff Obituary

Amy Elizabeth Devin Bischoff

Born September 27th, 1959

Edgewood, PA

Amy Devin Bischoff, age 64, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on April 16, 2024 from metastatic breast cancer.

Beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt & dog mom to 8 wonderful Newfoundlands. Amy was a friend to too many people to count.

Amy was proceeded in death by her father, Carl, mother Libby, sister Judy, brother Rick, nephews Glenn & Scott.

Surviving are husband Bruce Bischoff, sister Diane Jervis, brothers David Devin & Robert Devin. Sisters-in-law: Robin Devin (Rick), Betsy Ruhl (Fred), Diane Gemberling (Mark) & Gretchen Thompson (Jeff). And nieces & nephews: Holly, Ted & Jennifer, Eric (Jen) & Darton (Chris), Dwynn, Carl, Jack, & Mae, Grace, Ali, Luke & Eliza, Nathan & Ford.

Amy attended Edgewood HS, and still remains close with many of her classmates. She attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, receiving a degree in Home Economics & Design, followed by a degree in Early Elementary Education from Chatham University.

Amy worked as Office Administrator for Dr. Bhuta's medical practice. Amy then worked for UPMC as a medical coder for 25 years, and was promoted multiple times and awarded The Gold Star / Aces Award.

Amy was able to combine her love of dogs to train & certify 3 of her Newfies;  Olive, Sherman & Oscar to be Pet Therapy dogs. Together they volunteered for 12 + years with UPMC Hillman Cancer Center to bring joy and a smile to the faces of those in need.

Amy always had an eye for fashion & interior design and she was always ready for an adventure. But her super power was to connect with so many and to laugh and be the best friend to everyone she touch.

The family will hold a Private Ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers a donation to a The Hillman Volunteer Center, mention their Pet Therapy team.
