Bruce W. Swanson

Of Churchill, age 91, passed peacefully Monday, June 13, 2022. He was the beloved husband of 62 years of the late Jeanette Swanson; loving father of Lori Putnam (Richard) and the late Glenn and Gary Swanson; devoted brother of the late Joyce Engelhard; caring uncle of Leslie Engelhard, Lisa Sevcik, Caroline Clay, David Paton, Bob Paton, and their families. Bruce attended the University of Michigan and spent his 37-year career at Westinghouse Research retiring as an Advisory Engineer in 1993. During this time Bruce worked on many classified projects and published numerous scientific papers. Bruce served in the Navy as Lieutenant JG from 1952 – 1955 and worked as a Supply Officer on the USS Steinaker DDR 863. Bruce was a Gideon for 40 years and a longtime member of Beulah Presbyterian Church where he was ordained as an elder. Bruce was a very generous and loving Christian who dedicated his life to serving God, his country, family and friends. Services will be private for family only.
