Charles Leonard Berrington, of Forest Hills, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Chuck was born in Sheffield Lake, Ohio, on June 21, 1932. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Estella Berrington of Amherst, Ohio; his siblings, George Berrington, Marilyn Blackford, Harry Weirich, Bruce Weirich, and June Amend; and his loving wife Jeanne (Larkin) Berrington.
He is survived by his dear friend and companion, Helene Baur; two sons, Chuck Berrington and wife Kim, and Mike Berrington and wife Debby; stepdaughter Kristy Nolen and husband Jethro; grandchildren Colton Berrington, Niki Cacciapaglia, Kelsey Lindquist, and Maddie Nolen; and great granddaughter Emma Cacciapaglia.
Chuck received his Electrical Engineering degree from Ohio University. He served in the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of First Lieutenant. His 37-year career at Westinghouse started with the Graduate Student Program and culminated in senior management roles in Marketing, Strategic Planning, Engineering, Human Resources, and Total Quality.
Chuck enjoyed many hobbies. He raced off-road motorcycles, skied with his sons, and sailed boats for over 50 years. He and his wife lived on their sailboat for two years and circumnavigated the Caribbean down to Trinidad and Venezuela. They rode their Harley Davidson motorcycles to Sturgis, SD, and Nova Scotia. He enjoyed antique cars and was very active in the Three Rivers Region Ford Model A Club, leading thousands of miles of Model A tours.
Friends are invited to a memorial visitation at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3600 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Saturday, October 7, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.
