Claudia J. Agnew
Of Blackridge, age 80, entered into Heaven on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, after a difficult year long illness. Beloved wife of Paul E. Agnew for 61 years. Loving mother of Amy Nickol (Craig) of Crozet, VA and Jon Agnew (Pamela) of Seven Fields, PA. Proud Grammy of Connor, Emma, Derrik, Dillon, and Alexa. Sister of John “Jack” Jones (the late Betty) of Frankfurt, KY. Claudia was born in Swissvale on April 28, 1943, to Clyde and Bernice “Gigi” (Bates) Jones. Claudia was a devout Lutheran and served many roles at Calvary, Advent, and Zion Lutheran Churches. She was a wonderful gardener and homemaker extraordinaire and was affectionately known as “Mrs. A” to her kids’ friends to whom she was a second mother. She enjoyed trips to the Outer Banks and Marco Island and visiting her grandkids in Virginia and Seven Fields. Claudia, along with her husband Paul, were always very generous with their time and talents and often blessed neighbors and friends with services, baked goods, and gifts. Claudia was very spirited and was recognized by her 1970’s CB radio handle “Super Rat” and was proud to have a lead foot to expedite trips to the OBX. She was large and in charge and known for being “The Chief”. Her family will miss her homecooked meals, her creative spirit, and are thankful she is watching over them, breathing freely and at peace.
