Daniel “Dan” Paul Fox, age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. He is survived by his adoring (and adored) wife of 47 years, Virginia Kay “Jenny” Fox; his loving children, Erin Fox (Gordon) and Sibel Mandalinci (Dirk) and 3 grandchildren, Max, Mila, and Owen; and siblings, Mary “Aggie” Fox and Edward “Jimmy” Fox.
Dan was born on December 2, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of Edward James Fox and Rita Therese Lepore. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army.
In 1979, he met the love of his life, Jenny, and they spent nearly 50 beautiful years together filled with family, friends, and true joy. Dan and Jenny were long time residents of Forest Hills for over 45 years. Dan had a passion for knowledge, social justice, animals, and compassion for helping the less fortunate.
Dan was a retired U.S. Postal Service worker and was an active member of the U.S. Postal Service union. Outside of family and career, Dan loved volunteer work, reading, and spending time with family. He loved visiting historic sites, museums, and public libraries.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3600 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service. Burial in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be private to Dan’s family.

The Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard is an organization dedicated to ending homelessness and providing resources for Veterans in the greater Pittsburgh area.
