Donald V. Koch

Of Wilkins Twp., age 94, passed away quietly on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. He was born the youngest of six children to the late Anthony and Anna Koch of Aspinwall, PA. He is preceded in death by his loving spouse Elinor and is survived by 5 children: William Koch (Sharon), Keith Koch, Monica Banaszak (Michael), Colleen Murin (Michael), and Cynthia Baronti (Richard). He is also survived by ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Don served his country as a Corporal in the US Army. He was a loving father and devoted family man with all things centered around faith. All who met him would fondly remark, “He is the nicest man I know,” a tribute we hold close to heart. He loved movies, especially TCM Classics, music--most notably, Perry Como--and playing cards, especially pinochle in the Army. Don was a follower of the Duquesne Dukes and a diehard Pittsburgh Pirate fan. He also enjoyed duckpin bowling in his younger days, horseshoes with his boys and could never pass up ski-ball at the shore. Don was a Eucharistic Minister and served on the ‘Right to Life Committee’ at St. John Fisher Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Churchill.

He will be greatly missed for he was the spiritual rock of our family--a profound influence on all of our lives. Rest in peace. You are home.

Friends received at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3600 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Fisher Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 10am. Private burial in William Penn Cemetery.
