Elena (Frustaci) Dominijanni

Age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2021. She was a long-time resident of Churchill before moving to Longwood at Oakmont in 2019. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Livio, in 2012. She was also predeceased by brothers Bruno Frustaci and Vincent Frustaci. Elena was born in Sant’Andrea Apostolo dello Ionio, Catanzaro, Italy and immigrated to the United States with her mother, Vittoria (Sama), in 1951 to join her father, Giuseppe and her brothers, where they were working. She returned to Italy in 1953 to marry Livio and they permanently moved to Pittsburgh to make a new home for their family. She is the loving mother of Dominic (Lynne) and Joe (Alice), grandmother of Michael (Brandy Ralston), Lauren Devinney (Matthew), Anna, Adria O’Brien (Timothy), Anthony, and Andrew. Great-grandmother of Roman and Lorenzo Devinney and Tristan Ralston. She also leaves behind a number of cousins, in-laws, nephews and nieces in Italy. “Nonna” loved to cook and looked forward to hosting family dinners, especially on holidays.  She would let you know her opinion if any activities interfered with family dinners and she refused to let her Italian cooking and baking traditions get forgotten by the next generation. She loved her family and had a constant and loving concern over their well-being. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Charities of Pittsburgh at www.ccpgh.org. In light of COVID restrictions, viewing will be private. Friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:30 on Friday, February 12 at St. John Fisher Church (St. Joseph the Worker Parish). Entombment in All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
