Emma Jean (Brooks) McPeak

Of Turtle Creek, formerly of Wilkinsburg, age 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 20, 2024. Emma was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a retired nurse. She was a Christian who knew her Bible, spoke to others about the Lord, and was a prayer warrior. Emma enjoyed The Price is Right, John Wayne movies, Perry Mason, drinking Pepsi, doing 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles, playing Parcheesi, and being with family. She also enjoyed playing hymns on her organ.

Emma was born in Pittsburgh on October 26, 1934, a daughter of the late Charles Brooks, Jr. and Blanche (Courtwright) Brooks. In addition to her parents and 2 siblings, she is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Leslie E. McPeak, Sr.; sons Leslie E. McPeak, Jr. and Robert “Bobby” McPeak. Emma is survived by her children, Peggy Slivka, David McPeak, Timmy McPeak, Danny McPeak (Josie), Patty Shoupe (Roger), and daughter-in-law Lorine McPeak; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3600 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Friday, January 26, from 10am until the time of the funeral at 12:00 noon. Emma will be laid to rest with her husband, Ernie, in Homewood Cemetery.
