Evelyn "Lyn" K. Hellwig

Of Forest Hills, age 57, passed away surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, December 17, 2023. Beloved wife of 35 years to Rich Hellwig. Loving mother of Tyler (Jackie), Ethan (Moriah), and Jake Hellwig. Cherished grandmother of Stella Hellwig. Sister of John Kane (Kim) and Tim Kane (Adriana). Lyn taught at Beulah Christian Preschool for 29 years where she touched the lives of generations of students. A well-known member of the Forest Hills community, her smile and warm nature built lasting friendships wherever she went. She lived by the mantra, “There are no such things as strangers, only people you haven’t met yet.” She loved to cheer on the Steelers and spend time in the sun, but she drew her greatest joy in life from being a mother. She leaves behind her a legacy of love and laughter. Friends received at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3600 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Thursday, December 21, from 1:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Beulah Presbyterian Church, 2500 McCrady Road, Pittsburgh PA 15235, on Friday, December 22 at 11:00am.
