March 11, 1937 ~ June 22, 2026 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Gerald Paris Obituary

Of Wilkins Township, 89, passed away on June 22, 2026 surrounded by his
cherished family. He is survived by his adoring wife, Rita Paris, of 53 years,
beloved children, Joseph, Gerald J.C. (Mary), and Christopher, and his adored
granddaughters, Johanna and Charlotte.

Gerald is the son of the late Joseph C. and Anna G. Paris of Pittsburgh,
PA. His family moved from Braddock to Rankin and then during the
early part of World War II to Pittsburgh where Gerald grew up in the
Lawrenceville district of Pittsburgh.

After attending boy’s Catholic preparatory schools, Gerald graduated cum
laude from St. Bonaventure University, Olean, New York. Gerald graduated
from the Dickinson School of Law, Carlisle, PA.

After graduation from Law School, Gerald entered military service with the
United States Seventh Army as a Second Lieutenant. While home on
leave, Gerald was admitted to the Bar of Pennsylvania in the chambers of
Supreme Court Justice Michael A. Musmanno.

Upon completion of his military service, Gerald returned to Pittsburgh
where he received an appointment as an Assistant District Attorney for
Allegheny County. After four years, Gerald left the District Attorney’s office
as the Second Assistant District Attorney to enter private practice.

In private practice, Gerald represented the U.S. Steel Railroads, the Union
Railroad, the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad, and the McKeesport
Connecting Railroad. In the asbestos litigation, Gerald represented the
Pittsburgh Corning Corp. among other asbestos manufacturers.

Gerald was an Emeritus member of the American College of Trial Lawyers
having been admitted to the College in 1987. Gerald was also a member
of the Pennsylvania Crime Commission and a member of the Pennsylvania
Supreme Court Disciplinary Board for two terms.

Gerald, an avid golfer, was a member of Oakmont Country Club, having
joined in 1973.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest
Hills Chapel, 3600 Greenburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Sunday,
June 28, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. A Requiem Mass will be held at the Most
Precious Blood of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 3250 California Avenue,
Pittsburgh PA 15212, on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. Entombment
will follow at Allegheny Cemetery in the Temple of Memories, 4734 Butler
St., Pittsburgh PA 15201.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School,
