Katherine Byrnes Powderly

Age 94, of Forest Hills, passed on peacefully at home surrounded by family, on Sunday, March 8, 2026. Beloved wife of the late William H. Powderly, III; mother of William H. Powderly IV (Frances) of New Hope, PA, Katherine C. Farrell of Bradford, PA, Robert B. Powderly (Mary Jo) of Ross Twp., and Karen P. Sisler (the late T. Barry Sisler, Jr.) of Waynesburg, PA; also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and sister of Ann Shanahan (deceased, and the late Walter), Sarah (Sally) Byrnes (deceased), and her surviving brother, Edward G. Byrnes, Jr. (Nancy).

Katherine was an active member of Forest Hills Borough and a member of the St. Maurice Church congregation. She was also an active member of the Forest Hills Garden Club and the Forest Hills Women’s Club.

In her spare time, Kay was an active volunteer including Meals on Wheels, delivering meals to the homebound. Kay enjoyed extensive travel with her husband, Bill, having visited every continent.

Friends received at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3600 Greensburg Pike, 412-731-5001, on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 1 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Maurice Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Forest Hills, on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 10 am followed by burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.  EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH.
