Maureen A. Puntil

Of Naples, FL, and Wilkins Twp., age 88, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Beloved wife of 66 years to Ronald M. Puntil. Loving mother of Ronald Jr. (Cheryl), Daniel (Kathy), Glenn (Kimberly), and Susan Certo. Grandmother of Claire Puntil, Colin Certo, Max Puntil, Laura Puntil, Emily Certo, Caroline Certo, Mark Puntil, Julia Puntil, and Tommy Certo.

Maureen was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Joyce) Palmer and she was raised in Stanton Heights with her brother, James. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and the University of Pittsburgh in 1956 with a Bachelors Degree in Education. She taught at Chartiers Houston High School as well as Sharpsburg High School and substitute taught for many years at Churchill High School. She was a longtime member at Edgewood Country Club and member of Women’s Golf Association of Western Pennsylvania (WGAWP). She also played competitive paddle tennis and tennis. She was also a member of Stonebridge Country Club in Naples where she successfully competed at a high level in many golf activities. She loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. The two things most important to Maureen were family and faith. She will be greatly missed by the many who loved her.

Friends received at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3604 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Monday, May 8, from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral Mass at St. John Fisher Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish on Tuesday, May 9 at 11am.
