Nova Rose Parker-Owens Obituary

Nova Rose Parker-Owens, precious baby girl of Kayla Quinn Parker and Darius Jerome Owens, was born into the arms of angels on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 3:42pm at Magee Women's Hospital.

Nova was born at 35 weeks, she weighed 6 lbs. 9 oz. and was 18.75" long. Although Nova never spent any time with us on earth, she was very loved and she touched many lives. Her family made sure that every day, up until her passing, she knew how much she was loved and how much we so looked forward to her arrival.

Nova is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Joe Ann Peoples, her paternal grandfather, Alphonso Peoples, and her paternal great-great grandmother, Thelma Linkhorn.

Nova may not have had the opportunity to officially meet her Mommy and Daddy, but she did know their voices. Her Mommy would read from her children's Bible each night and would listen to children's programs with her. Her Daddy would talk to her and teach her the Lord's Word and inspire her to be a faithful, loving servant.

Nova was also a connoisseur of fine foods. Her favorite places to eat were Red Lobster and Taco Bell. (She particularly loved the chicken quesadillas!)

Nova also enjoyed fruits and vegetables and had a love for water and Mt Dew. Even though she was growing and was in the 95th percentile for her age, her Poppi and GG watched the sonogram of her doing what looked like push-ups. Even though her head was a little big, she gave it her all.

Nova may never get to show the world her full potential, but judging by her sonograms and the look on her face when she was born, she is going to make one fine ANGEL. We are so happy and proud to have gotten to have her for the short time we were given.

Nova will be missed by her Mommy, Daddy, GG Sherry, Poppi Bryan, Uncle Quyntin, Grandma Karen Owens, Aunt Savannah, Aunt Skylor, Aunt Pebby, Cousin Tavahn, Great Nama, Great PapPap, Aunt Qiana, Aunt Danielle, Aunt Erika, and Cousin Anari, along with a host of family, friends, and other loved ones.

Kayla and Darius would like to personally thank our nurses, doctors (especially Unicorn), and Heather, our doula, for all their love, compassion, and support during this very tough time. We will be forever grateful.
