Robert R. Hopkins

Of Churchill, age 79, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 28, 2022. He was born in Buffalo, NY, on March 4, 1942, to Robert R. and Edna (Holden) Hopkins. He attended SUNY at Buffalo and Albany for his college education. He worked as an administrator at Cornell University and the University of Pittsburgh, among others. Bob was a US Army Veteran and a karate black belt and instructor. He was an avid reader, an enthusiastic traveler who loved riding his motorcycle, and a connoisseur of single malt Scotch whiskey. Bob was the beloved husband of Deborah Twardy for 39 years. Brother of Marilyn Hopkins Escalera (the late Daniel) of Richmond, VA. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews and their spouses and children, whom he loved very much. Services private. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Family Hospice of UPMC, or Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
