Sarah Marguerite Moore, daughter of Ruth Neuhoff Moore and the late Professor Richard A. Moore, died peacefully on Monday, May 8, 2023, with family by her side. She is survived by her brother, Peter Moore (Anita Monga), sister, Susan Moore McJunkin; her nieces, Jessica Ongala, Genevieve Rhodes (Jeffrey), Leslie Hoover (Zachary), & Emily Randen (Jared); her grand nephews & nieces, Levi, Nathalie, Hudson, Charlie, Jack & Hadley; as well as her beloved dog, Brutus. Sarah had a quick wit and prickly demeanor. She was an animal lover, a wonderful cook, gardener, entrepreneur, and keeper of the family's history. She was extremely generous, quietly thoughtful, and fiercely private. Her final years were spent in a needless amount of pain. We hope that anyone reading will reach out for help and never suffers in silence. To our dear Sally, even the prickliest pear is still very sweet, you will be deeply missed.
Friends and family will be received Saturday, May 13, from 1:30 to 3:30pm at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3604 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, or virtually via Zoom (link below). Come as you are, Sarah would insist. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh, www.humaneanimalrescue.org/donate/, or adopting and spoiling a large shelter dog.
