Shirley Johnston Obituary

Of Forest Hills, age 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband William, her son John, her brother Jack, and parents Albert and Anna Groth. She is survived by her daughter Ann Bliss (Ralph) of Pittsburgh and son Robert Johnston (Rose Marie) of Albuquerque, NM. Shirley was extremely loved by her grandchildren Emily Kunkle (Michael), Jillian Cummings (James), Christopher Johnston (Joyce), and William and David Johnston. Her three great-grandchildren, William and Charlotte Kunkle, and Anastasia Johnston, are going to miss their “Great” immensely. Shirley was a secretary in the Churchill and Woodland Hills School Districts and a long time member of Hope Lutheran Church, Forest Hills. She was a remarkable bridge player, avid reader, and solver of crossword puzzles. Private interment in Beulah Memorial Cemetery, Churchill, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
